Spencer Manor Winery is seeking a highly motivated and service-oriented individual to join our hospitality team as a Service Leader. This position serves as the lead server during service, supporting day-to-day front-of-house operations and acting as an assistant to the Service Manager. The Service Leader helps ensure guests enjoy a consistently elevated and seamless experience that reflects the standards and values of Spencer Manor Winery

Key Responsibilities:

● Lead by Example: Set the tone for the front-of-house team through professionalism, warmth, attention to detail, and outstanding service.

● Shift Leadership: Act as lead server during service, supporting team members, managing pacing, and stepping in to resolve guest concerns when needed.

● Assist the Service Manager: Support training efforts, assist with scheduling input, and provide feedback on team performance and service improvements.

● Guest Experience: Ensure each guest feels welcomed, informed, and cared for throughout their visit. Assist with wine education and recommendations when needed.

● Team Support: Help with onboarding and mentoring new staff. Offer guidance and support to ensure high team morale and smooth operations.

● Operational Oversight: Participate in opening and closing duties, check for cleanliness and readiness of the service areas, and ensure adherence to winery protocols and standards.

● Event Support: Assist with execution of special events, private tastings, and large parties, maintaining a polished and organized presence throughout.

● Communication: Serve as a communication bridge between front-of-house staff and management, helping implement new policies or service changes efficiently.

Qualifications:

● Minimum 2 years of experience in food, wine, or hospitality service; leadership or trainer experience strongly preferred.

● Strong knowledge of wine and a desire to continue learning (certifications a plus).

● Confident, clear communicator with strong organizational and time-management skills.

● Calm under pressure and capable of maintaining a gracious demeanor during high-volume service.

● Flexible availability including weekends, evenings, and event dates.

● Must be 21+ and able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
